General: Oysters galore, that’s what B&G Oysters really is. This small and busy oyster bar provides the most amazing oysters in Boston! (In She’s opinion, by the way!)  A pricey restaurant, but absolutely worth spending on. I’d recommend checking out all the Barbara Lynch Gruppo Restaurants! B&G Oysters is located at 550 Tremont Street, Boston, South End. (617) 423-0550.  www.bandgoysters.com

She Said: B & G Oysters is a very small restaurant, kind of in a basement area. When looking outside you see people’s legs, which makes this a secret place! My friend was visiting from NYC and she and I were really up on the idea of getting oysters for her last night in town. He suggested B & G, so off we all went. We came in prepared that we’d have to wait 30 minutes before being seated, however, we were able to get right in at sit at the bar. This was cool because we got to watch the chef’s prepare all the amazing food. Our server, Tara, was very helpful and fun to talk with. He will probably be able to tell you the different oysters that we had, but we definitely tried almost all of them! I had this oyster bloody mary shooter which was so so good. I also loved the Steamed Wellfleet Clam entree that we shared. It was fabulous! I’m very glad He suggested B & G as it is my favorite raw bar to date. I am sure you will not be disappointed when you come to dine here! It is on the pricey side, but so good and worth it.

He Said: Mediterranean food has been one of my favorites since I was a little kid. I know kind of weird for a kid, yeah? I grew up eating clams and oysters. B&G has a very tasty menu selection. The raw bar is great and the entrees are pretty well selected. I overheard that they keep changing the menu every other month, so that even makes it more appealing to me. I like everything about this restaurant: the ambiance, the food, the staff and even the guy sitting next to me was pretty friendly. One thing I didn’t enjoy is the spiral stair to the bathroom. It’s a bit harder once you are on your second bottle of wine. Speaking of wine as for any raw bar place they have a small selection of whites and even smaller selection of reds and your not so commercial sparkling wines / champagne. The petite paella is awesome very flavorful decent size and perfectly tough out. We had a selection of all the oysters variety they had that night being my favorite the Malipique ones sandy and salty. I also had a chorizo baked oyster tapas that was just delicious is totally must! And go there hungry.
