General: The South Street Diner opened in 1947 for the factory workers, but has now become a superb landmark in Boston! A hang out spot for college students as well as late night foodies. South Street Diner is located at the corner of South Street and Kneeland Street, in the South End. Be sure to call ahead to make a reservation if you’re coming in after midnight at 617-350-0028. www.southstreetdiner.com

She Said: Oh, how I love this place! The South Street Diner is an absolute must for anyone in visiting Boston. Whether you’re coming for breakfast, breakfast for dinner, or after a night of partying before actually heading home, you’re going to have a good time at South Street Diner. It’s open all night long, which makes it convenient for all the students in the area. The waitresses are all decked out in tattoos and sport the 50’s rockabilly look! The menu is very very extensive, but amazingly good. I had trouble decided what to order. Pancakes, waffles, eggs? Salads, sandwiches and burgers? What about those 50’s milkshakes and desserts?! Well I settled on an omlete with feta, spinach, jalapenos, and onions. AWESOME is all I can say. Not too much a fan of the fries and home fries, but the onion rings smelled good. I also had a vanilla milkshake to go, which was fantastic. I could have easily settled on pancakes! Or of course granola and fruit (but didn’t see that on the menu).

I apologize for the long ramble, but The South Street Diner is so awesome, and you HAVE to go!

He Said: I remeber back in the day when I first discover this place - I was out partying and I was so hungry. One of my friends said ”Let’s  go to the South Street Dinner. It’s open 24/7.” Since then I have become a regular for this place. I now know all the staff and always find a spot in here no matter what time I  show up. Late at night you are going to find a line and it might take you a little while to get in, but wait. I promisee will be worth it. I usally have the cheese burger or the club burger. It’s so good there. The omelletes won’t disapoint as well. I am sure she and he will end up here at some point in the future.
