General: Southwestern, Tex-Mex Bar and Grill. Feels a bit “sophisticated.” Masa Restaurant has locations in Boston and Woburn. Located at 439 Tremont StBoston, MA 02116. Tel: (617) 338-8884  www.masarestaurant.com

She Said: After a day of Bloody Mary’s and sweaty hot basketball players, She and He decided it would be a good idea to cap off the evening with a new review. They decided to walk to the South End and try Masa. To She, Masa is highly regarded and has been raved about — however, She only thinks its about Masa’s brunch menu. She wanted to come for brunch as well, but settled on dinner. Unfortunately, dinner wasn’t at the expectation. She first sank her teeth into the spicy ahi tuna “cabo rolls.” I was a bit disappointed. For her main, the choice was the Eggplant Steak. One of the only veggie dishes. So they stuffed cherry peppers and couscous were tasty, but again, a bit disappointing. In all it’s rave, try the brunch maybe.

He Said: Okay maybe I had really high spectactions for this place, or maybe the hype around the Mexican spicy fusion food etc. And just to clarify Mexican/tex mex foods are one of my favorite cuisines. I pretty much have tried it all.. If  it is well done is just tasty full of flavor and very hearty. Everyone can totally disagree with me, but after eating here I left very disappointed. It’s either most of the people that has review the place don’t know anything about mexican food or I don’t know. The menu here is pretty much as far as it gets from real mexican food, they even have a duck dish  on the menu. I never heard Mexican cuisine having duck as a meat. Any how she and I were having a good day playing outside so what the heck trying something new and eclectic is always on our best interest. I was Hungry after drinking and walking in the sun all day so I went for the top price, it said: “Mexican Spicy Ny Sirlon Asado”, I was like that sounds good, spicy meat with some mash potatoes on the side yeah, knock me out! oh and before that I tried a “spicy mexican chorizo” empanada that wasn’t spicy at all. The chorizo tasted more like ground beef and empanadas are from Argentina. Ok going back to the steak, when our waiter brought it my eyes lit up it was huge and very well presented, I was like YES!, but as i had the first bite my real face came truth. It was so plain that i don’t know where the word spicy was ever attached to this dish. I soaked in tabasco just to try to feel some spice out of it. I guess people keeps telling me the brunch is great there and the margaritas suppose to be awesome, but until maybe one day we stumble for brunch there, I will rather go to Annas get a chile verde burrito and be happy!
